Brae Court is an award-winning 4,500-square-foot mountain retreat in Schaffer’s Mill, Truckee, California, designed by Emily Roose Interiors. This full-service interior design project reimagines mountain living through an organic modern lens—earning recognition from Tahoe Quarterly and multiple international design awards.

Inspired by the Sierra Nevada landscape, the home blends mountain modern architecture with natural materials and biophilic design principles to create an environment that feels both grounded and sophisticated. A board-formed concrete fireplace anchors the great room, while a European-style kitchen, sculptural lighting, custom art, and concrete vanities introduce architectural depth throughout the home.

Designed with wellness and long-term livability in mind, the residence includes a spa-inspired retreat and carefully layered lighting that enhances the sensory experience of each space while strengthening the connection to the surrounding landscape.

Brae Court reflects Emily Roose Interiors’ approach to luxury residential design—where material integrity, sustainability, and thoughtful planning come together to create homes that feel enduring, immersive, and deeply connected to the way people live.
