Chalk Ridge is an award-winning mountain modern residence in Somersett, Reno, Nevada, designed by Emily Roose Interiors as a full-service interior design project for a young, active family. Positioned to capture sweeping views of the downtown skyline and Tahoe mountain range, the home balances a contemporary aesthetic with warmth, comfort, and everyday livability.

The open-concept interiors layer warm woods, bold accents, and custom details throughout—creating spaces that feel both refined and welcoming. A statement walnut dining table anchors the main living area, while the kitchen pairs dramatic panda granite with blue wall coverings for a striking European-inspired contrast.

Designed to support both daily routines and entertaining, the home includes a fireplace with built-in bench seating, a custom-tiled powder room, a highly functional laundry space, and a dedicated dog wash. Additional features such as a golf simulator room and wine lounge introduce personality and lifestyle-driven functionality throughout the residence.

The primary suite serves as a quiet retreat, layered with spa-inspired finishes, floating nightstands, and deep blue grasscloth wall coverings that create a calming, restorative atmosphere.

Chalk Ridge reflects Emily Roose Interiors’ approach to residential design—where thoughtful planning, elevated materials, and a strong understanding of how a home is lived in come together to create spaces that feel enduring, personal, and deeply livable.
