Tahoma Retreat | New Construction Vacation Home Near Lake Tahoe
(Tahoma, CA)
Just a short walk from the shores of Lake Tahoe in Tahoma, California, this new construction custom vacation home blends modern design with the timeless culture of Tahoe mountain and lake life. Nestled beneath a canopy of pine trees, the four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bath residence was designed for both relaxation and entertaining, with expansive windows that capture mountain landscape views and strengthen the home’s indoor-outdoor connection.
The heart of the home is a spacious kitchen created for gathering, featuring nature-inspired blue cabinetry, natural stone countertops, and panoramic windows that frame the surrounding scenery. The palette draws inspiration from the lake’s hues and the tranquility of the setting—fresh, organic, and grounded in place.
In the primary bathroom, the homeowner’s appreciation for Japanese bathing rituals inspired a Japandi-style oasis that merges minimalist modern luxury with serene, spa-like comfort. Guest rooms and bathrooms continue the theme with natural materials and contemporary finishes that nod to the classic Lake Tahoe cabin aesthetic while introducing updated color, texture, and warmth. Wood ceilings in the main living areas reinforce the authenticity of “old Tahoe,” creating a welcoming ambiance throughout.
For active mountain lifestyles, the home includes a custom dog shower in the laundry room—an elevated, practical detail that supports everyday Tahoe living.
